Computers named a special creation of IBM’s Watson, won the race in “Jeopardy!” against two former champions of this television show. With success, Watson answered general knowledge questions barrage being thrown by the host of “Jeopardy!” and earned more prize money of 77 thousand U.S. dollars. The amount is more than three times the amount ever won by the two rivals.
As reported by voanews on February 18, 2011, Watson’s name is taken from Thomas Watson, founder of computer company IBM. The engineers of this company spent four years to create this particular computer.
